Tea4Kidz – Laager

With so many over sweetened, artificially coloured, and sugared-up choices for kids, I absolutely love it when brands that offer healthy alternatives for kids make moms’ lives easier by making the products exciting and enticing for our littles.
One such brand is Laager, with their introduction of the #Tea4Kidz range. Not only is the packaging fun and exciting, the flavours are too!

Rooibos, Strawberry Rooibos, Peach & Apricot Rooibos, Black Tea, Rooibos & Honeybush Blend and Rooibos & Honeybush flavours bring fun options for all pallets

The only hot beverage my kids really ever drink is Rooibos tea. Jordy loves it with a dash of milk, and Jackson (like his mama) prefers sans milk. So far the Peach & Apricot is a clear winner when it comes to their favourite hot tea drink. The Strawberry flavour being a close contender, both with a dash of honey… Mmmmm! IMG_9870

The Strawberry has been the favourite for making Iced Tea, which makes for a super alternative to sugary drinks on hot days. Here is the recipe:
INGREDIENTS:
5 Strawberry flavoured Laager Tea4Kidz teabags / Peach & Apricot Teabags
1 Litre Boiled water
2 TBSP Honey
1 Cup Strawberries / Nectarines or Peaches, sliced / cubed

METHOD:
In a large jug, pour in the boiled water and drop in the Strawberry flavoured Tea4Kidz teabags. Let them steep for 5 minute, depending on how strong your littles enjoy their tea, before removing the teabags.
Stir in the honey and once cooled add the sliced fruit and ice blocks.
Place in the fridge or enjoy straight away.
TIP:
Without fruit the Iced Tea can be stored for up to 6 days in the fridge.

It has to be said that a clear favourite is the Laager Tea4Kidz Strawberry Rooibos Lollies. The first time I made them I did not use enough tea bags and the kids found them too watery. I recommend trying this recipe, although I left out the real strawberries because Jackson loathes anything with “bits”…

INGREDIENTS:
6 Tea4Kidz Strawberry-flavoured Teabags
250g Fresh Strawberries (optional – adding 50ml strawberry juice is other option)
1 Litre Boiling water
2 TBSP Honey

METHOD:
Add the teabags to the boiling water, allow to soak, remove after 5min.
Add Honey and then let cool.
Slice Strawberries and add to cooled Rooibos.
Pour Mixture into ice lolly mould and leave in freezer overnight.
Enjoy!

Drinking Rooibos is the healthy option, here are 10 reasons why:

  1. Rooibos is naturally caffeine-free
  2. Rooibos is 100% natural and contains no additives, preservatives or colourants
  3. Rooibos contains antioxidants that can boost your immune system
  4. Rooibos can help reduce allergies and inflammation
  5. Rooibos helps to keep the body hydrated
  6. Rooibos helps to reduce the risk of heart disease
  7. Rooibos can help to reduce the risk of cancer
  8. Rooibos can help to soothe stomach cramp and colic in infants
  9. Rooibos can help to protect the liver
  10. Rooibos can help to reduce stress

Let me know if you make any of the above for your kiddies, and how they enjoy it xx

The Laager team also sent us some Yorba Organics to try, and we have been loving the scents and natural ingredients of these bath & body products. I particularly love the nappy cream, and have found it soothed a bad rash that Miss B got whilst we were on holiday in the berg.
