An Escape to the Cape | Where to stay

Is there anything better than a quick escape to the Cape? Short answer: No. No there is not! Shopping at the V&A, eating loads of delicious food and beaching it on Camps Bay are the makings of a perfect little getaway in my mind!

A holiday in Cape Town is a luxe holiday, so it seemed apt that we stayed in luxury when we were there! 🙂 We were invited to stay at and review the Luxury Stay apartments in the Waterfront, and I am so happy to be able to share our experience with you!

ARRIVAL & FIRST IMPRESSIONS:
Taking a step back from arrival, let’s talk first about our booking experience. Checking of availability was done for me and once the venue confirmed they could accomodate us for the dates of our travels we recieved an email informing us that our booking was confirmed. Over and above that I then recieved a WhatsApp message from the management of Luxury Stay, a man named Marshal, informing us that our booking had been made, the address and a pin of the location and that I should feel free to message should I have any questions. He was wonderfully helpful.

We arrived outside the apartments and gave Marshal a call to ask where we should park. He ran out to greet us and showed us an underground parking lot in a lock up garage (nice and safe). He then helped us carry our luggage and showed us our apartment. First impressions: SUPER impressed! You just don’t get this kind of personal service in many places, and it certainly goes without saying, it is a luxury!

The Docklands apartments are a short 3 minute drive from the V&A waterfront, making it a very central and such a perfect destination for a holiday stay.

ROOMS:
We couldn’t help but be amazed by the apartment itself – small in size yet so cleverly laid out that you don’t in any way feel cramped. Luxury linen on a very comfortable King sized bed, Charlotte Rhys in the bathrooms, a Nespresso machine and an incredible view are just some of the things this neat little one bedroom apartment offered.

Here are some of the other things I loved about the rooms:
– Very modern & chic furnishings
– The flooring – gorgeous wooden floors
– Fully airconditioned
– Block out curtains – for sleep ins
– Quiet/sound proof – no issue with noise from other apartments at all
– Excellent Wifi
– Heated towel rack in bathroom
– Pull out couch in lounge – great if coming on a girl’s trip
– The daily turn down
– The daily servicing

Turn down 🙂

DINING:
The apartment is a self catering unit with a fully loaded kitchenette including a fridge, freezer, oven, stove, toaster, kettle and Nespresso machine. There is also a washing machine in the unit. Eating in/cooking seems like a sin when you are a 3 min drive from the V&A with a huge selection of amazing restaurants to enjoy! Not to mention that Beluga is on the same road as the apartment block, making a drink with dinner very easy indeed!
You can see a small list of some of the restaurants we love in CT here.

AMENETIES:
A short elevator trip up to the top of the apartment block takes you to a roof top pool, bar and braai area. The views are breathtaking and with long summer days in the Cape it is the perfect place to get some VitD while casting your eyes between the mountain and the waterfront views.

The Luxury Stay team act as a call or message-away concierge team, making any questions or requirements very easy for them to assist with a smile.

The Luxury Stay team

The team made our stay even more special with a personalised note and bottle of wine – luxury at its absolute best!

PRICE:
For one night in Feb for two people you are looking at approx R3980.

VERDICT:
We literally could not give one negative comment about our stay at LuxuryStay Cape Town Docklands. It was honestly just perfect in every way and we hope to return one day soon.
