Baby’s best buys :)

Every since my maiden post back in August on my Top 12 Baby Essentials, I have been overwhelmed by the number of messages I have received from new and expectant mommies, and how they felt my post helped them. I cannot explain how happy this makes me! To know I can help in some tiny way is all I want from this blog.

I have been promising a full write up on what I would recommend you buy when expecting a babe, so finally, here it is! I have given a list that is probably missing a few things, but hopefully pretty comprehensive. In some cases I have added pics where I thought they might help. I hope that if you are expecting, that this helps guide you a little bit.

REVIEW | John Frieda Sheer Blonde

According to a study into the psychology of hair color, “Blonde is actually seen as the most covetable hair color among women, since it’s rare but not quite as polarizing as red. And yes, it’s true: Blondes really do have more fun (or are at least seen that way, anyway). Research shows that those with light hair are perceived as more bubbly and open—and sometimes needy. ”

What’s breast for you {& your babe}?

It’s #WorldBreastfeedingWeek, and over this past week my inbox has been flooded with emails entitled or including the #breastisbest slogan. Instagram has been filled with {beautiful} breastfeeding pictures and controversial discussions around the topic.

While I personally have never been one to share any {revealing} images of me breastfeeding, prior to today of course ;), every #breastisbest hashtag has pushed me a little more to share my feelings on the topic. But before I share my feelings on the matter, here is some background on my three b/feeding experiences:

Oh Baby!

My new baby essentials!

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

I have quite a few friends expecting soon, and they have each asked me for recommendations on what they need for new baby’s arrival.

Let’s not kid ourselves, having a baby is expensive (oh, and try three ;)!! You only need to walk into a Baby City store to feel like the most overwhelmed and under-qualified person for the job ahead. I am still filled with anxiety when I walk into that place, so do not stress mom-to-be, it has that effect on most people.

Don’t you find yourself drawn to baby’s soft, plump cheeks? It’s almost impossible not to smooch them!! And don’t even get me started on their little tooshies! 🍑 .

<<
mittedly I’ve been a bit more fussy with my last-born baby and followed the movement to all things natural and organic🌱… but when we were asked to try their #johnsonstoptotoe range I sat down and did some research into baby skin.

REVIEW | Post Baby Cleanse

Post – dated post x

As of 8.30pm tonight (26 July 2017) I’ve completed a 3day juice cleanse. I’m so proud of myself because gosh it wasn’t easy. But jeepers it was worth it!!
I was so excited when @hip.and.fresh asked me to try their cleanse and 14day eating plan. I’d had my sights set on doing one since I was pregnant with B, and now that I was no longer pregnant or b/feeding I was ready… or so I thought! In hindsight it may have been wiser to have waited until after my babe had passed this awful sleep regression stage… but… then again, maybe not… read on to see why.

ᴅᴀʏ ᴏɴᴇ: I sailed through day 1 of the cleanse. The excitement of finally being on a cleanse, coupled with the intrigue of tasting every different (yummy) juice, kept me going.

ᴅᴀʏ ᴛᴡᴏ: day 2 was not cool. I woke up after a disastrous night with Brooklyn, feeling exhausted, deflated, and with no energy whatsoever. I had no idea how to face the day without my trusty cuppa. Once I was up and about I was fine… but not great. As they day progressed my headache became nearly unbearable. By 1pm I had no choice but to take a nap. 20minutes later I woke up feeling much better, but still not amazing. I slugged through the rest of the day and bed/bath routine, torturous as it was with 3 kids 😜. As soon as they were down I jumped into bed. My body needed it. It was crazy to me how those refined fats, sugars and false stimulants could cause such a build up. And their exiting my body was painful! 😫

ᴅᴀʏ ᴛʜʀᴇᴇ: day 3 was nothing short of incredible. From the moment I opened my eyes I felt amazing. Even though my night was as bad (if not worse) than the night before, I felt good. Great even. Dare I say ᴇɴᴇʀɢᴇᴛɪᴄ 👯
All without caffeine 😮 I know right?! By 8pm I’ve normally lost most of my personality too, yet I’m still feeling strangely energized. Mind blown 💥FullSizeRender-9@hip.and.fresh delivered me a box of frozen juices (6 per day), 3 soups and 3 detox teas, as well as an awesome (post cleanse) 14 day whole food meal plan created by dietician Danielle Oldfield. The juices were all absolutely delicious and the soups were scrumptious- and huge portions!! Having done a juice cleanse before, I really appreciated that this one allowed me a warm soup at dinner, as well as half an Avo at breakfast and lunch. It did not help though that I had to unclench my juices from Jackson and Jordan’s little paws 🤗 they LOVED them!!

FullSizeRender-17 I’m feeling amazing and I hope to continue the clean eating as much as possible. And one thing is for sure, I’ll be ordering weekly juices for the boys from @hip.and.fresh – what better way to get them to have their daily dose of veggies and fruit?!

My personal space

My first blog post on my new blog

Hello, welcome! And thank you for visiting my blog.

This is a space for me to share and connect with whoever chooses to or mistakenly 😉 comes across this space. There are no rules that I will follow. I won’t post weekly or routinely. I’ll post about life, marriage, motherhood, joys and struggles, and everything in-between.  It will be my place to share what is on my heart as and when I feel the desire to do so. Sometimes that desire comes on strong and I have no choice but to put my feelings into black and white or I fear they burn within me #dramaticmuch – but it’s true. When I feel the need to share something it will repeat on my heart and mind constantly and until I ‘obey’. And so you are looking at my open journal. If my words touch or connect with even one person then they were worth writing.

I hope you enjoy. If you do please subscribe and share xx
