How to set up a Blood & Stem Cell Drive

Here is the process you will take to set up a drive in your neighbourhood. Please understand that the SANBS and SABMR want to do everything in their power to assist anyone in running a drive, (we need as many as humanly possible countrywide), but they also need some time to coordinate things from their side. Often the blood bank needs to close clinics in order to get staff to a venue – and they also need to work between travel schedules.

The 12 Apostles | Review

Early May we were lucky enough to head to the Cape for a few days, and even luckier still to spend time at the highly rated 12 Apostles Hotel located in Camps Bay. The hotel is positioned such that it feels it is the only place between the majestic Twelve Apostles and Table Mountain, with a view of the Atlantic that makes your heart flutter.

Coco De Mer

Before we knew it April was upon us this year, and a week before our anniversary Justin & I looked at one another with a blank look when someone asked us what our plans to celebrate were.

Shayamanzi House Boat

In April this year we were invited to attend a ‘social cruise’ aboard the Shayamanzi II house boat in Jozini. We were invited as a family, and after experiencing it with 3 kiddies aged 8, 6 and 4, here is what we thought of the trip;

Mokaikai Girls Trip

Early March I joined a group of girls to the bush for a 3 night stay in Bela Bela.
After the speed in which Jan & Feb passed us, as well as coming out of the second wave of Covid in SA, it was such a welcome vacay!

This is US

Brooke’s party was a mom & daughter only affair, and so dad and the boys were off on their own adventures before the party, but Sammy Maber managed to get some beautiful family pics before they left. Gosh they make my heart burst with pride.

Brooklyn’s 4th Birthday

My little girl turned FOUR in Feb this year (2021), and she knew exactly what she wanted for her party. She is a real little lady who loves all things pamper & beauty, and so a Pamper Party was the perfect fit for our princess B.

Seeing as we are still amid a global pandemic we took care to keep her party small, inviting only the children she plays closely with in her class, a couple of her besties-since-birth outside of school, and their mamas. This meant no siblings allowed – not even her brothers. 🙁

The Cavern: Berg at it’s best

Ever since we heard about the Cavern Resort & Spa in 2018 and paid it a visit, we have been enamoured with the place and it is an honour to share this special gem with you all. The Cavern, founded by Bill Carte in 1941, is still a family run business, and with that creates what I believe to be the heart of the resort. It is, in my opinion, far more special than a business-run resort with “one in one out” mentality. Megan & Hilton Bedingham run The Cavern with love & heart, and that can be felt throughout the resort. The family eats nightly in the same dining hall as guests, and with a weekly ‘snacks in the bar’, genuinely seem to care for making connections with their guests. See discount code at end of this post 🙂
