Brooklyn’s Third Birthday Party

Our little girl’s THREE-esta party

I can still hardly believe it, but our baby girl turned THREE in February. We celebrated in style with a THREE-ESTA, and it was just the most wonderful party for our colourful little Sénorita.
You can read a letter to my little 3 year old here.

We hosted the party in our home, which is one of my favourite things to do, however this was the first party in years that I didn’t have the services of my trusty party planner, as she had moved out of Ballito, and my goodness, party planning is a huge job! But thankfully one that I just adore. There were more than a few times that I felt overwhelmed and like I had bitten off way more than I could chew, but I had many fabulous brands on board for Brooke’s party and they truly came together to make the party a beautiful and incredibly joyful afternoon.

Furniture & Decor Items:

All furniture and selected decor items were provided by Hired&Co. From start to finish Lisa was a pleasure to work with. I sent her my mood board for the party and she came back with a presentation of furniture she had in stock, and how she suggested we set it up. This was such a huge help to me because I felt a little overwhelmed with all the planning and one element stressing me the most was how the party should be laid out. I had a vague idea of what I wanted, and Lisa really helped to put that into motion. Her furniture was all delivered ahead of the party with enough time to set up, however we had some bad weather just before the party and so only had the day of the party to set up, thankfully there wasn’t all too much to do apart from moving things into place. I know that if I was hosting a big, important event or wedding I would choose Lisa in a heart-beat because she has such attention to detail and offers a brilliant service. If there were any hiccups along the way Lisa went above and beyond to rectify and she proved herself to be a huge asset to the Durban events service community.

Flowers:

It is hard to imagine that Brooklyn’s Fiesta would have been as feminine, vibrant and colourful without the work of heART by Carolyn from Adore weddings. The dancing flower pots that Cazzy put together were just too spectacular. Cazzy is the most wonderful flower fairy with an enormous heart. She brings such joy with not only her presence, but leaves it with you in the arrangments she puts together. She truly is a visionary. Again here are a few pics, and you can see and read more about Cazzy HERE.

Frida Kahlo Backdrop:

One of my most favourite features of the Fiesta was the magnificent Frida Kahlo that Vinyl Deco printed on their round backdrop for us. It truly was beautiful and I am so tempted to get a wallpaper of her printed for somewhere in my house. Vinyl Deco also printed the standing cactus for us as an extra surprise. They are a professional team who are always an absolute pleasure to work with. You can see more of what Vinyl Deco can do HERE, and pics on below slideshow:

FIESTA marquee Light Up Letters:

The Fiesta Lights were an incredible feature, and as the sun set they became even more of a WOW factor. Ricardo supplies these handmade lights and they are the perfect addition to any event, whether you need to spell a name, age or “BABY” for a baby shower, they are simply stunning!

Party Stationary

It was an absolute pleasure to work with Lyndi from The Party Box Co as she launched her sensational party stationary business. Lyndi was so great to work with and just like with Hired&Co, I sent Lyndi my mood board and she came back with some ideas of how stationary could compliment the theme. Lyndi complimented the elements so beautifully and brought in a feminine feeling through watercolour cactus, “3”s and little signs, bunting and many other elements to place around the party. Lyndi also printed stickers for water bottles and supplied them ready, as well as put little “B” stickers onto boxes that matched the theme for sweets & chips. And finally, the little tags for the party packs were just gorgeous, each with a threaded ribbon and hand-glued flower. Lyndi’s attention to detail is what makes her so good at this. I have no doubt she will soar! See more about The Party Box Co HERE

The CAKE:

The cake was such a gorgeous feature of the party and something people could not stop remarking on. It was made by the insanely talented Lucy from CakeLab. My heart aches to know that they have closed their doors due to the COVID19 devastation, but I am hopeful that they will return one day, as they truly were an asset to Durban events industry.

Biscuits:

The biscuits were absolutely beauuuutiful, and were made by the extremely talented Gen from Artful Bisuit Co. They honestly are too beautiful to eat, although they were clearly deemed good enough to grab & hide, because when I went to look for one for myself they had vanished!

Additional:

The additional decor items seen in the pictures were bought by me on Amazon and a very kind friend brought it all back from the States for me. This includes Brooklyn’s dress, her & my flower crowns, the colourful bunting, inflatable cactus, sombrero and Llama, taco shell holders, cactus shooter cups, tablecloths and the chilli-shaped trays, plates and sweets, small martini glasses, flower clips for girls, mini sombrero for boys, mini maracas, skull tray, mexican themed gold tattoos, stick on moustaches, pin tail on Llama and the cactus crafts. I also bought all the balloons on Amazon and YOLO kindly blew them up with helium and delivered them for me.

I did all the food & snacks myself.

Jumping castle slide was hired from Taryn at Kings Castles: 083 397 7668

The gazebos, popcorn machine and bubble machine as well as the lady doing kids entertainment were all hired from FUNSA.
