Midlands escape | Travel

There is no better time to connect with loved ones than over a weekend away! Our lives have been so busy this year that we found ourselves really missing our friends the Rosie’s a lot, and agreed that a weekend away was well needed. Left in the more than capable hands of Caley, a quick two night escape was booked & planned in no time, and we had something to look forward to together.

Here are some pics of our special weekend:

We arrived Friday afternoon, settled in with a G&T and ordered some takeaway pizzas from V de V just down the road. After dinner & bath time was done the kiddies were asleep by 7.30pm and we had some wine by the fire and caught up with our special friends. We chatted late into the evening, only getting to bed around midnight. Juz & I had a disrupted night with Miss madam in our room… but that’s just parent-life, and was quickly forgotten the next morning.. I mean just look at these faces:

Sweetest breakfast time with these cuties:

Chill time at the house:

Brunch at Relish – The Junction, Gowrie

The food took a while but was well worth it! I had the haloumi & avo salad and it was so good! And the coffee was too good! Had two flat whites 💛

We went for a drink to the Gowrie golf club at sunset & the kids played on the course

We had a very chilled second night, Cals & I cooked dinner, had the kids down by 7pm and snuggled up watching the Wimbledon.

Sunday morning the boys made coffee & tea and Caley & I enjoyed a cuppa in bed with the babies putting on a show for us (cutest little characters at the sweetest age!!), while the guys made a fry up. We then packed up and made our way to Piggly Wiggly. Someone told us the “animal farm” there had a demo at 11am which we aimed to make. After pre-booking our table we went across to the farm and wow! Dingo’s Farm & Reptile Park is so awesome! Dingo and his son informed us all about alligators 🐊 and their love for animals is so clear. A real treat for all of us, with American Alligators (which we could touch), miniature goats, bunnies, donkeys & snakes… not that I’m a fan of those 😱

Just before pancakes at Piggly Wiggly, the kids went on the 120m zip line they were so brave!!

This is where we stayed, in Gowrie Estate:

What a special two nights away!

If you’re wondering what to do or where to eat in the midlands I hope this helps you a bit!
