It was about one month ago now that I received the new Marc Anthony Grow Long products, including the Shampoo, Conditioner, Volumizing Texture Spray, Miracle Repair Anti-Frizz Spray and the Volumizing Dry Shampoo. Upon first sight I was in love with the bright and fun PINK packaging, but if there is one thing us ladies have come to know very well, its less about what it looks like, and more about how it leaves your hair looking… so how did it measure up?
Let’s start (at the beginning) with the Shampoo and Conditioner:

NOTE: This post is from last year’s party !! Very delayed haha
My boys are almost exactly 2 years apart, and for the longest time they shared birthday parties which made so much sense because they shared many of the same friends and it was silly to spend double, 2 weeks apart. As they have grown older, however, it has become all the more evident that they are very different little personalities, and wanted something very different out of their parties. Jordan Rock is “friends with everyone”. The more the merrier for him as he wound invite everyone he has ever met to his party if possible. Jackson, on the other hand, is far more reserved, with fewer close friends, and when it came to planning their parties last year it was clear that he wanted something small, intimate, and mainly with his closest male-friends from school. He couldn’t not invite two of his best girl-friends too, Chloe and Sophie.

On Saturday 8 June I hosted a baby shower in my home for one of my best friends, Natasha. She is expecting her second baby in less than a month, and will be one of the lucky mama’s with two under two 🙂

We were gifted with a term of Nurturing Nannies classes, and I can honestly say that it was the most wonderful gift, and it blessed three of us: me, my daughter and my nanny… truly the gift that kept on giving 🙂
We decided that, for a few reasons, we were not quite ready to send our little last-born lamb to school just yet, and that meant she would be at home with me when I was home, but mostly with her other mommy; her Nanny, Fungai. Continue reading “Nurturing Nannies | WIN”
We celebrated our little baby girl with the most perfectly PINK party, put together by the incredibly talented and wonderfully special Natasha Parsons from POSH Events. Historically I have always taken huge pride in throwing my kids’ parties myself, but I found myself without the time and energy, and Tash was an absolute lifesaver, and allowed me to feel completely part of the process, beginning to end!
I honestly cannot sing Tash’s praises highly enough. She heard my dreams for the party, put together a mood boards, worked within budget, and went above and beyond in terms of effort and time on this party. The details that she added to the event were too special, and she is made for this party planning life!
Our little two year old absolutely loved being the centre of attention, and particularly loved her jumping castle, and spent hours on it before, during and after the party!
Tash did all the decor – complete with perfume bottles that resembled the Chanel No 5 bottles #LOVE
She arranged all the suppliers and all set up and break down of all items. This included the balloons, of which a few of the tutu balloons popped before the party stared due to the wind and Tash arranged for the supplier to come back and do some more for us!!
Brooke and I twinned in Cotton On Kids tutus in blush pink. Of course she wore it best!

One of the most emotionally taxing experiences of my life so far
A few weeks ago we were invited to go away with friends to Phinda Bayete for a weekend in the bush. I have never been to Phinda, and being invited to this exclusive “Friends of Phinda” camp was such a treat for us. With the help of Justin’s mom and an Aupair who cared for our babies, we escaped for what was destined to be a magical weekend. We had no idea just what an experience was ahead of us! There is no denying that life as we know it today is intense. We have heard it from our grans over a hundred times; we are too busy, there is too much pressure on us, and we need to slow down. We can’t though, can we? We can’t be the only ones going slow, while everything around us spins faster and more out of control! We have to try keep up or we are sure to be left behind. At least that is how I feel. If I take my foot off the gas there is no way I will catch up. It is pretty crazy that this is just life as we know it now. Continue reading “The Myth of ‘Supermom’”
Having kids is a challenge that no one can ever be fully prepared for. Having three kids, well, let’s just say it is “full-on”. Thankfully, though, along the way I have built a little bank of MOM HACKS that help me through most days, and I thought I would start with my number 1 Mom Hack: Wet wipes errrrrwhere! It has been a good long while since my last “Flavour of the month” post!
I am so sorry about that! I am super excited to share this lot with you though! Hope you enjoy, let me know if you try any of them and what you think…
Starting with the most important: Skin care. Because it doesn’t matter what you put on your face to pretty it up, if the base coat (your skin) is not clear and glowing, well then nothing will look all that good, will it?! Continue reading “Flavour of the month | Beauty. Skin. Hair”
What a hot topic this has been!
Since posting a video of Jordy (3) emphatically defending his brother Jackson (5) at the announcement that his older brother needed chilli for his bad behaviour, my Insta inbox was flooded on questions, opinions, and not unexpectedly, a few disapproving remarks. It was requested that we run a poll to see what worked for parents when more serious methods of discipline are required.
Before getting onto the results of the poll, I thought I would touch on a few things, and answer a few of the frequently-asked questions I got: Continue reading “Discipline.”
