Brooklyn’s Winter Wonderland 5th party

This year there was no getting away from it. Brooklyn’s mind was made up on the party she wanted… and she wanted FROZEN. Believe me when I say I tried to convince her otherwise (Yes I knowww it’s herrrr party and she must have what she wants…) but I am not a big fan of throwing ‘commercial’ parties so for me Frozen was not high on my list of themes that excited me…

I asked some of my fellow community for some ideas for B’s 4th birthday party and boy, they delivered 🙂 There were many repeats, but close to 50 original ideas! Thank you all. Brooke’s 4th party theme is hidden somewhere in the list below 😉

Pirate Party | Jackson turns 6

NOTE: This post is from last year’s party !! Very delayed haha
My boys are almost exactly 2 years apart, and for the longest time they shared birthday parties which made so much sense because they shared many of the same friends and it was silly to spend double, 2 weeks apart. As they have grown older, however, it has become all the more evident that they are very different little personalities, and wanted something very different out of their parties. Jordan Rock is “friends with everyone”. The more the merrier for him as he wound invite everyone he has ever met to his party if possible. Jackson, on the other hand, is far more reserved, with fewer close friends, and when it came to planning their parties last year it was clear that he wanted something small, intimate, and mainly with his closest male-friends from school. He couldn’t not invite two of his best girl-friends too, Chloe and Sophie.

A Baby Shower for my bestie

On Saturday 8 June I hosted a baby shower in my home for one of my best friends, Natasha. She is expecting her second baby in less than a month, and will be one of the lucky mama’s with two under two 🙂

My Tashi is not one for a fuss and likes to keep things simple, but I really wanted to make the day special, and with limited time on my hands for planning, buying and setting up I am ever-grateful for the kind collaborations of POSH events – another beautiful Natasha, who plans, sources, manages, sets up and breaks down all of my events. It was my first time collaborating with, (but not my first time using)  balloon extraordinaire; Taryn, from Mad Hatters Party Shop in Ballito.

Brooklyn Turns Two-Tu Cute

We celebrated our little baby girl with the most perfectly PINK party, put together by the incredibly talented and wonderfully special Natasha Parsons from POSH Events. Historically I have always taken huge pride in throwing my kids’ parties myself, but I found myself without the time and energy, and Tash was an absolute lifesaver, and allowed me to feel completely part of the process, beginning to end!
I honestly cannot sing Tash’s praises highly enough. She heard my dreams for the party, put together a mood boards, worked within budget, and went above and beyond in terms of effort and time on this party. The details that she added to the event were too special, and she is made for this party planning life!

Our little two year old absolutely loved being the centre of attention, and particularly loved her jumping castle, and spent hours on it before, during and after the party!

Tash did all the decor – complete with perfume bottles that resembled the Chanel No 5 bottles #LOVE
She arranged all the suppliers and all set up and break down of all items. This included the balloons, of which a few of the tutu balloons popped before the party stared due to the wind and Tash arranged for the supplier to come back and do some more for us!!

Brooke and I twinned in Cotton On Kids tutus in blush pink. Of course she wore it best!

Finders Keepers | Kids Party Fun!

I was recently invited… hang on… my KIDS were recently invited… to the launch of a new kids party entertainment concept called “Finders Keepers”, brought to you by Kiki & Boo.  It is, in my opinion, a brilliant concept, and one which took me back to some very happy childhood memories.
