Fitchef | Review

In July I was asked to review the FitChef meals and I have been inundated by questions from you all asking how we found it and if I would recommend it! Justin and I were very kindly sent the 21 day couples challenge to try, and here are our thoughts:

Arrival:
It is safe to say that the order process and delivery as well as packaging of the FitChef meals impressed me from the minute the delivery man arrived with 4 (rather large) boxes, chilled and sealed.
Opening the boxes was one of the most exciting unboxes I have done this year, and I couldn’t stop grinning from ear-to-ear at the thought of not having to meal-plan, prep or cook for Justin and I for at least 21 days! Bliss!

Midlands escape | Travel

There is no better time to connect with loved ones than over a weekend away! Our lives have been so busy this year that we found ourselves really missing our friends the Rosie’s a lot, and agreed that a weekend away was well needed. Left in the more than capable hands of Caley, a quick two night escape was booked & planned in no time, and we had something to look forward to together.

Here are some pics of our special weekend:

Weekend in Pics | 29 June – 1 July

Friday:
After cramming in some work that morning (while the boys and Miss B played so beautifully in the playroom next to my office), the boys and I dropped little sis with my Mom in law and headed through to Durban. The plan was initially to meet dad for lunch somewhere first, but work delayed me more than I expected and so it was McDees on the road for the boys and I. We had a very important date at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre, a date with the BFG!!  Continue reading “Weekend in Pics | 29 June – 1 July”

Review | LG Smart Inverter Top Loader

If you have followed me a while you will know that we are so very excited to be building a house – a dream come true for us, complete with a big garden for our babies to play in all day long! So you can only imagine my pure joy and excitement when LG contacted me to try out and feedback on their new LG Smart Inverter Top Loader washing machine. A new machine for our new home! I cannot explain how excited I was, particularly because our washing machine prior to this thing of beauty was something that had been around and used by Justin and his digs-mates since 10 years ago, old, noisy, and very, very average.

Same oven & recipe, but very different buns!

My two boys could not be more different. They are on opposite ends of the spectrum in nearly every way you can imagine! Same oven (me), same ingredients used (I’ll let you fill in those gaps), and yet a completely different result each time! It’s like Jackson is a plain old delicious and fool-proof and reliable hamburger bun, and Jordy is a pretzel 😉 a little crazy in shape and loads of flavour!  Continue reading “Same oven & recipe, but very different buns!”

Makakatana Bay Lodge

When it comes to getting away, I personally have never found any vacay to be more relaxing than a bush vacay! I don’t know if you feel the same way, but the moment I enter the gates of a game reserve it is as if all my stress is left outside those mile-long wire fences, and I instantly become lighter and freer! It was the same, if not even more so, when Justin and I escaped for two nights to 4 star Makakatana Bay Lodge over my birthday.  I say possibly even more so because Makakatana Bay Lodge is situated within iSimangaliso Wetland Park, so not only is it lush and green, which is always good for the soul, but it is located on the western shores, and so offers a true bush experience while being closely situated to the coast and lake St Lucia estuary, which is very unique and special. And… can you say TRANQUIL?

Our Bali babymoon adventure

So in November of 2016, Justin and I whisked ourselves away on a Babymoon prior to our lives becoming that much more crazy by adding another little Fourie-tjie to the world!
